Known as the Mount of Revelation, there is a small cave within this mountain where it is believed our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ first received Revelation of the Qur’an from the Archangel Gibrael AS.
Mina, also known as the city of tents, is a valley famous for the important role it plays during Hajj Pilgrimage. It is located 8 Kilometres to the east of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Inside the valley, as far as the eye can see, the open space is covered with tents.
The mount where all Haji’s are gathered to supplicate until sunset whilst listening to the Khutbah at Masjid Nimrah, which is on the planes of Arafat. The Prophet ﷺ stood by the rocks and said, “I stood here, but all of Arafat is a place of standing”.
Masjid Nimrah (Arabic: مسجد نمرة) is located in Waadi Urana. When the Prophet (ﷺ) was at Arafat on his farewell Hajj on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah 10 AH he camped here. After midday he delivered his famous sermon (reproduced below) in the Urana Valley while seated on his camel, after which he led the salah. More than 100,000 Sahabah accompanied him on this Hajj.
This is the main graveyard in Makkah. It is believed that the Mother of the Believers and the first Wife of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is buried here. It is also a resting place of Abu Talib Ibn Abdul Muttalib, the father of Ali RA as well as Abu Talib who was the grandfather of our Beloved Prophet ﷺ.
It is believed that in this cave our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ took refuge from the Qur’aish during the Hijri. He rested here with his great companion Abu Bakr Siddique RA. It is in this location where it is also believed a spider built a web at the entrance of the cave in order to deceive the Qur’aish.
After the sunset of the 9th of Dhul Hijjah pilgrims move on to Muzdalifah. There they spend the night. Firstly they pray the Maghrib (sunset) and ‘Isha (night) prayers together. Having combined them, they also shorten the latter from four to two units (rak’ah). It is in accordance with a confirmed practice of the Prophet (pbuh). This is also the location where pilgrims collect between 49 and 70 pebbles from the ground at Muzdalifah, and throw them at the three pillars at Mina, which represent the devil.
Holy Prophet pbuh went to Taif for preaching Islam, the people of Taif mocked him, called him crazy and didn’t like him at all. He stayed there for many days but people of Taif didn’t change their attitude at all. One day they decided to insult him so that he runs away from Taif.
